I hope everyone is enjoying this great stretch of warm sunny weather when you are able to be out and about. It’s great to be able to attend our SBC meetings in the light of day.
This month continues with our talks focussed more on people, companies and projects of interest in our local community.
I recently visited Raj Padmawar, President & CEO of ASAsoft (Canada) Inc to take a look at an exciting new product (lightweight composite insulator) that the company is introducing into the electricity transmission and distribution markets in Canada. This product was first introduced in South Asia in 2002 and have over 2 million insulators installed world-wide. This product is manufactured overseas and, for us, Raj will be talking about this “offshoring” of products with its difficulties and benefits. His talk will be about:
“Lessons learned: A Canadian SME’s journey from Proof of Concept to Market Ready Product”
ASA has gone through it all. Raj and Andy Jani (VP and COO) will share their perspective on everything you need to know to put offshoring into practice and ASA’s future growth plan.
Please join us to find out more about ASA and “offshoring” of products. More info about the company and products can be found at http://lightweightinsulators.com. A summary PDF of ASAsoft can be accessed @ ASAsoft Summary page.
Note: For more details, a printable meeting notice can be downloaded by clicking on the following link: Agenda 14 May 2015
