“A Silicon Valley of Manufacturing – I think that’s the role Langford could play. Langford’s got the space; it’s got the affordability.” John Juricic, Chair, Vancouver Island Manufacturing Sector Advisory Board.
Hi all. February is here and I’m hoping our rain and dreary January soon changes to sun and brighter mornings.
We are, once again, given the opportunity to learn more about our local manufacturing sector. This month, Paul Smith, Business Manager with Titan Inflatables Ltd. (Titan Boats) will talk about how this company, started in 1995 by John Stanners, grew from a basement operation to a successful, expanding company manufacturing Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) for Enforcement, Police and Search & Rescue agencies home and abroad. Titan today, occupies 3 commercial buildings in the heart of the Sidney Industrial park and employs a skilled trade staff of 20 – 25 people.
I look forward to having you join us for the 2nd meeting of 2016 and find out more about our Sidney manufacturing community.
Note: For more details, a printable meeting notice can be downloaded by clicking on the following link: Agenda 11 Feb 2016
As always, the meeting is held at 7am on the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Victoria Flying Club Dakota Café.
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 11th February, 2016 at 7am and, as before, please RSVP (cooke @ieee.org) only if you plan on attending.
