Greater Victoria Development Agency (GVDA)
is pleased to announce the addition of Dallas Gislason to the organization as Economic Development Officer (EDO).
Gislason has an eight-year career in the field of economic development field, working at both the regional and provincial level. Dallas’ background positions him well to make a smooth transition into his new role, with tremendous experience supporting local businesses and helping to foster economic development programs, both in our region and in the province of Saskatchewan.
New Westminster, BC. – At its June 2012 regular board meeting, The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously to join the BC Chamber of Commerce.
On behalf of its members, The New Westminster Chamber of Commerce joins the collective voice of 120 plus other Chambers of Commerce in British Columbia.
“From an advocacy perspective, our voice will become louder on issues that are affecting our business community from a local, regional, provincial and national perspective.” says Andrew Hopkins, President of the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce. “There will be times when our voice may differ than that of our Provincial Colleague’s as we try to reflect local concerns, but being part of a louder, more active voice will benefit our members in the long run.” Continue reading
Last night Colleen & I attended the University Club Celebration of Wine & Food at UVIC. The session featured the Okanagan’s Summerhill Pyramid Winery.
Hosted by Dan Angus, UClub Manager and Melissa McLean, Principal at Melissa McLean Management Services, it turned out to be a startlingly pleasant and eventful evening. Melissa was delightful as host and setting the context for the evening. She’s a terrific host and super fun personality. Eric von Krosigk, Winemaker & Director of Operations for Summerhill Pyramid Winery, was an entertaining guest speaker. He explained each wine pairing with flair and panache, he was a charming addition to an already marvelous evening. Continue reading
