In this municipal election year (November), it’s appropriate to know how our elected officials have voted regarding key business related issues vital to the economic sustainability of Lower Vancouver Island.Likely the most relevant of these issues is the lack of Affordable Workforce Housing. Recent CRD meetings have dealt directly with this issue via discussion & voting regarding a CRD Regional Context Statement amendment to the North Saanich Official Community Plan. Voting in favour of this CRD RCS amendment would demonstrate support for young families, for community sustainability & for regional economic development.
Local municipal politicians voting in favour included Barb Desjardins (Esquimalt), Leif Wergeland & Susan Brice (Saanich), Marilyn Loveless (Sidney), Connie McBride & Ted Daly (North Saanich), Chris Coleman & Geoff Young (Victoria), Wendal Milne & Rick Kasper (Sooke), Lanny Seaton & Denise Blackwell (Langford), Nils Jensen (Oak Bay), Alistair Bryson (Central Saanich) and Judith Cullington (Colwood).
Remember these folks when you vote in November.
