Hi all. Summer seems to finally be upon us so I am looking forward to sunny warm weather and much, much, less rain.
However, an important note first: This upcoming meeting is the last meeting before the summer with a restart of meetings on 14 September, 2017.
As many of you know, we have been running a speaker theme recognizing the 25th anniversary of the Sidney Breakfast Club. At our last meeting we were joined by a number of people that were instrumental in either starting this club in 1992 or participated in the early years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all as I believe this group really facilitated the tremendous success of our technology/manufacturing sector on both the Peninsula and throughout the Greater Victoria area.
Now that we have brought our 25th anniversary themed talks to a close, I am happy to introduce Ray Brougham, President of Rainhouse Canada as our speaker this month. Ray, as many of you may remember from a previous talk he gave us was the founder of Prototype Equipment Design and consequently will be talking to us about “Adventures in Rebranding”. ie, same company, new name and repositioning to grow and sustain market share.
For those of you that have been around for a while, you will have seen a number of our local companies start up, grow and then “change names / rebrand”. Now is your chance to find out why this happens as Ray talks about the challenges faced by well-established owner operated companies and gives us some valuable insights into the challenges, risks and rewards of rebranding.

As always, the meeting is held at 7am on the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Victoria Flying Club Dakota Café.
Please join us on Thursday 8th of June, 2017 at 7am and, as before, please RSVP (cooke @ieee.org) only if you plan on attending.
