Hi all. Welcome to spring (I hope).
We had a great change of pace topic last month as requested which generated a full house turnout. Thanks for the topic suggestion. This month, we will be continuing to feature another of our local manufacturing companies, Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd. The company operates in the forestry sector as a Ring Debarker Specialist and its been that way for over 60 years. For those of you, including me, who want to find out what that is, join us to hear from our speaker James Bowden, Nicholson Capital Value Stream Manager. James brings 15 years of Engineering background, mostly in manufacturing for the forest industry and will be describing: “A Changing world of manufacturing and the Timber Industry as a whole”.
James will be discussing the changes that Nicholson has gone through in the 68 years of manufacturing Timber related equipment including an acquisition of Madill and the lean journey of Nicholson in regards to Value Streams with a view to the future of the company and its people.
This should be an interesting and informing discussion.
