Happy New Year everyone!
We have the opportunity, once again, to learn from our positive (and negative) experiences from last year and plan for a successful 2016.
Last year was an “interesting” year for the manufacturing sector both in Canada and in our own community. One of the most significant changes locally was the news last summer that the Ramsay Group, a family-owned metal works and industrial manufacturer that spanned 112 years and four generations in Greater Victoria would cease operations in a winding down of one of the region’s most durable companies. However, another local industrial player (Ian Maxwell, Ralmax Group owner) acquired the Ramsay Machine Works property and buildings and has since moved one of the Ralmax companies, United Engineering (established in 1921) into these facilities. Consequently, we are fortunate to have Dave Bukovec, General Manager of United Engineering as our speaker for this month’s meeting. Dave will talk about:
“United Engineering Sidney/Victoria operations community impact and company future”
Dave has said he would welcome an informative Q&A discussion.
I look forward to having you join us for this first meeting of 2016.
Note: For more details, a printable meeting notice can be downloaded by clicking on the following link: Agenda 14 Jan 2016
As always, the meeting is held at 7am on the 2nd Thursday of every month at the Victoria Flying Club Dakota Café.
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 14th January, 2016 at 7am and, as before, please RSVP (cooke @ieee.org) only if you plan on attending.
