Last night Colleen & I attended the University Club Celebration of Wine & Food at UVIC. The session featured the Okanagan’s Summerhill Pyramid Winery.
Hosted by Dan Angus, UClub Manager and Melissa McLean, Principal at Melissa McLean Management Services, it turned out to be a startlingly pleasant and eventful evening. Melissa was delightful as host and setting the context for the evening. She’s a terrific host and super fun personality. Eric von Krosigk, Winemaker & Director of Operations for Summerhill Pyramid Winery, was an entertaining guest speaker. He explained each wine pairing with flair and panache, he was a charming addition to an already marvelous evening.
The reception centered around a red bubbly – Cipes Rose – with a Brie and Rhubarb Crostini appetizer. The starter focussed on the Ehrenfelser…the entrée featured a gorgeous Merlot and the Syrah desert matched wine complimented a Chocolate Molten Cake.
