Last week I had the great privilege of attending the 60th Anniversary BC Chamber of Commerce AGM in lovely Penticton, BC. Advocacy, networking, business development and informative speakers are the hallmarks of these annual events. One of the more exciting sessions at past AGM’s has been the Young Entrepreneurs Forum and this year was no exception.
As we crawl and scratch our way out of the worst recession in our generation, it’s often the young entrepreneurs that provide the energy, creativity and ideas to help bring our business community back to prosperity and economic health. Four of these budding business superstars presented at this year’s Young Entrepreneurs Forum.
Chris Boehm & Steve Jones, Co-owners & Operators of Burger 55 were first to present. Winners of the Young Entrepreneurs of the Year Award at the Penticton Business Excellence Awards, Chris & Steve demonstrated their amazing innovation and energy during their fun and informative presentation. Needless to say we were all hungry for one of their fantastic hamburgers when they finished.
Thea Stayanovich, Realtor with Trail Re/Max All Pro Realty & Director with the Trail & District Chamber of Commerce was our next speaker. Thea demonstrated her amazing public speaking skills, her enormous enthusiasm and multiple successful career accomplishments. She inspired the crowd and I was so proud to have her on the panel.
Brent Hodson, Associate Publisher, Northeast News & President, Fort St. John & District Chamber of Commerce, was our final speaker. Brent again demonstrated great public speaking skills. His youthful energy, commitment to community and innovative business development expertise culminated our forum of inspiring youthful business leaders.
Our BC Chamber family, our communities and Province are in great hands with young business entrepreneurs like Chris, Steve, Thea and Brent at the helm.
